Look at all these gradients!! All the mixed colors!! So smooth and colorful!! Okay, I'm done now.

Anyway, I'm still relatively new to screenprinting, having been working at it for less than a year. That means I'm still learning new stuff all the time, along with perfecting the stuff I already know. So, these last couple of weeks, I've been practicing something called a split-fountain.

The technique involves placing two or more colors of screenprinting ink next to each other directly onto the screen and then running the ink back and forth until it mixes together nicely. And it creates a lovely gradient on the paper once printed.

It's taking some practice. I can only print so many runs at a time before the ink gets too mixed together, but I'm loving the effect.

So, long story short, expect to see this technique around more often! See you kids next time!
